Celebrations This Month

This month the Society celebrates Christmas, New Year, Holy Mother's birthday, and the birthday anniversaries of Swami's Shivananda and Saradananda, direct disciples of Sri Ramakrishna. The headquarters of the Ramakrishna Math and Mission in India website offers descriptions the direct disciples' lives. Those interested in learning some details of the lives of these great souls can use the following links. Special Programs

Thursday, Dec. 10, at 6 PM: worship of Holy Mother, offering of flowers, and potluck dinner.

Thursday, Dec. 24, at 6 PM: Christmas Eve, reading from the Bible, worship of Christ, flower offering, and potluck dinner.

Sunday School - 11:00 AM

Teachers: Priscilla Meddaugh, Kathe Fradkin, and Darla Clark. First and third Sundays only.

Due to irregular and inadequate attendance of Sunday School children, the Vedanta Society of Portland will discontinue the Sunday School program beginning January 1999. If this concerns you, please contact Swami Shantarupananda.

Retreat

There will be no services at the Retreat Temple near Scappoose. However, the services will resume in the Spring.
