Swami Shantarupananda blessed the First Annual Procession of the Species organized by the Earth and Spirit Council on Saturday, April 24, at 1 PM, at the Pioneer Square, downtown Portland.

Swami Shantarupananda gave a lecture on "Hinduism" at the Central Catholic High School on Tuesday, April 27, at 8:30 AM.

Swami Shantarupananda visited Berkeley and San Jose from May 15 - 17, and he will visit Connecticut and Maryland from May 28 to June 9.

1999 Karma Yoga

Taking the opportunity to serve the Lord is an important part of spiritual life. This year, Mother's temples in Scappoose provide abundant chances for Karma Yoga.

The Scappoose retreat has six on-going project areas:

1. Storage/workshop at ground level at the main temple.
2. Guest bedrooms upstairs.
3. South deck off the main Temple.
4. Landscaping/walkways around the main Temple.
5. Shrine repair and maintenance (Buddha, Native American, Jewish, particularly).
6. Trails - completing the Karma Trail, Dhyana Trail, and better defining all the trails.
